When the Library trials new databases… it seems to me that it might be a good idea for at least one person who is very familiar with RW to do at least a preliminary test of RW export functionality? For example, I just tried out the Africa-wide NIPAD and even before I tried to export I could see from the structure of the records that it would be problematic. One had put all sorts of pertinent data in the Notes field! I did email the Selector with the info and cc'd our list.. but is that the best way to do it?
well… after all we put in here… for the class tomorrow, I ended up making yet another version! I used a version that Mary had created and added the wiki info and incorporated the RefGrabIT. The Write-in-Cite and GrabIt print as part of one document but are each a separate page.. so you don't have to print them if you don't need them. The formatting from printing from the site is a bit wonky (that's a technical term). I tried copying and pasting into a Word doc.. but found I was editing too much to make it worthwhile. Mostly because I wanted to change stuff around. Anyway… I'll try to post my newest handout soon but meanwhile it's on the shared drive in Word - has the word, wiki, at the end of the name.
